The Cove Worship team exists to lead our congregation in authentic praise and worship. We surrender our musical giftings as an offering unto the Lord. We strive to reach the lost, disciple the saved, and point to the glory of Christ within our weekly services as we carry out the vision of our church.
What Should I Expect?
We’re always seeking new vocalists and musicians who desire to use their gifts to lift up the name of Jesus from the platform. We have developed an intentional audition that prepares you for everything you need.
Here’s a general overview of the process:
Step 1: Submit a Video Audition
You’ll begin by submitting a video audition of yourself performing 2 songs that we have listed below.
Step 2: Review
We regularly review and evaluate video auditions. These are evaluated among our worship staff. Based on the videos, we will give feedback as to your next steps.
Step 3: FOUNDATIONS
Foundations is where we get to know you better and introduce you to the culture of our team! We will also go over expectations, scheduling, and our core values. Additionally, we create safe opportunities for you to get on platform, make music with our team and get real time coaching and feedback!
Basic Expectations
Worship team members should be in agreement with the theological standing, vision, and values of The Cove Church.
*Previous experience on a worship team is preferred but is not required.
HOW TO AUDITION: VOCALS
The vocalist’s primary function is to know the respective parts of songs, be articulate and understanding of the lyrics, and provide appropriate vocal tone, pitch, blending, and harmony with other worship leaders. A vocalist models authentic worship from the front-line of the stage.
How to audition:
1. Fill out our introductory application HERE
2. Film a video of yourself singing the primary melody in the two worship songs selected for your vocal range. Please use the reference track (with lead vocal) for learning the song. When you’re ready to record, please use the “Master w/click” for your video recording. Please ensure that we can hear your voice clearly above the music. Make sure to upload your best video while presenting with enthusiasm and authenticity.
3. Upload your video to Youtube (set to private).
4. Copy and paste the Share link of your video and include it in an email sent to: worshipteam@covechurch.org

Required skill sets:
Pitch and dynamic control
Competency in finding and executing harmonies
Proper microphone technique
Communication skills, teachability and humility
HOW TO AUDITION: Band
A band member’s primary function is to provide instrumental support for our worship experiences.
How to audition:
1. Fill out our introductory application HERE
2. Film a video of yourself playing your respective parts to the songs below. Please aim to play it just like the recording. Make sure to upload your best video while presenting with enthusiasm and authenticity.
3. Upload your video to Youtube (set to private).
4. Copy and paste the Share link of your video and include it in an email sent to: worshipteam@covechurch.org

Able to memorize music and play without chord charts
